Joint Activities     

By their decisions BC IX/10, RC-4/11 and SC-4/34 (the “synergies decisions”) the respective conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions requested the secretariats of the three conventions to undertake specific activities to support the process of enhanced cooperation and coordination among the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions . Furthermore, the omnibus decisions BC.Ex-1/1, RC.Ex-1/1, and SC.Ex-1/1, requested the Secretariats to develop a proposal for cross-cutting and joint activities that was reviewed and adopted by the three Conferences of the Parties at their ordinary meetings in 2011.

Since 2009, the Secretariats have planned and undertaken a number of activities that are outlined in the following sections of the synergy website.

Information on joint activities implemented from 2012 onwards, which is also of relevance to completing the Secretariat’s questionnaire on the review of synergies arrangements, can be found in the implementation section of the website.
